U.S. Sales Up 40.9 Percent
ROCKLEIGH, N.J. (May 3, 2011)- Volvo Cars of North America, LLC, (VCNA) reported U.S. sales of 6,404 units, a 40.9 percent increase from April 2010. Year-to-date sales are up 17.7 percent over the first four months of 2010.
In Canada, Volvo sales are up 11.4 percent in April with a total of 705 vehicles sold. Year-to-date sales are up 2.1 percent in Canada.
North American sales are at their highest monthly volume since June 2009. Sales of the award-winning S60 sports sedan continue to increase each month in the U.S. with 1,972 units sold in April. The award-winning XC60 finished the month right behind, with 1,220 units sold, up 49.3 percent (versus April 2010). In Canada, the XC60 and S60 were also the two top selling carlines with 184 and 167 units sold, respectively.
