Volvo Cars acknowledges that as a car company, we must be part of the solution when it comes to mitigating climate change. This acknowledgement is reflected in our overall approach and commitment to sustainable business. We were the first traditional car maker to commit to all-out electrification, meaning that every new Volvo from 2019 will come with an electric motor. We aim for carbon-neutral manufacturing across the globe as of 2025.
That same year, at least 25 per cent of the plastics used in every newly launched Volvo will be made from recycled material. We will also remove single-use plastics from all its offices, canteens and events across the globe by the end of 2019. We have been publicly recognised by the United Nations for our sustainability ambitions and, more specifically, our electrification strategy.
