A message from Volvo Cars Corporate Communications

Dear Media Friends and Colleagues,

On behalf of everyone at Volvo Car Americas, I'd like to thank you for your patience over the past few weeks as we adjusted our press fleet operations in response to COVID-19.

As you know, critical medical personnel currently dealing with the COVID-19 pandemic are exposing themselves to risk, both at work and in some cases by using public transport, taxis, and ride hailing apps to get to their patients. This is especially true for those who have temporarily moved to another city or state to answer the call to help some of our most impacted cities across the country.

As a brand that is dedicated to safety, we want to help protect those who protect us.

With this at heart, Volvo Cars is offering organizations working to deliver critical supplies and medical professionals the use of Volvo cars from our various fleets, including our press fleets, during the crisis. This will allow vital supplies such as Personal Protective Equipment (P.P.E.) to be transported securely along with medical workers themselves to the hospitals and patients who need them most.

In Canada, we've partnered with ConquerCOVID-19, a volunteer organization delivering urgent medical supplies to the community's front-line healthcare workers. In Brazil we've partnered with the Red Cross, Holy House Hospital and others to aid in delivering supplies where necessary. And in the U.S., we have launched an initiative to provide critical medical staff in major metro areas, including some who have temporarily come from other cities and states, vehicles so they can safely get to and from work, instead of taking public transportation.

As demand continues to grow, many of your scheduled loans may be impacted and we may not be able to facilitate new loans through the beginning of June.

We appreciate your understanding as we do our part to help those who help us during this crisis, and hope to get back to normal as soon as possible. Remember that the Corporate Communications team is still on the job, ready to provide the information, assets, and executive access you need to do your job.

Please feel free to reach out to us with any inquiries.

Best regards,
