Volvo has added even more luxury and elegance to the flagship S80 for 2010. The exterior's charisma is enhanced with a new grille that wears a larger Volvo iron mark, part of the elevated Volvo design DNA that graces the newest members of the family. For increased radiance, chrome trim accents have been applied to the S80's taillights, lower front fascia and lower door side moldings.

The model lineup includes the normally aspirated S80 3.2, the turbocharged S80 T6 AWD fitted with Volvo's renown all-wheel drive with Instant TractionTM and the top flight S80 V8 AWD - the first and only Volvo sedan equipped with a powerful yet remarkably compact and highly efficient V8 engine. A new PZEV (Partial Zero Emissions Rating) version of the 3.2 6-cylinder engine produces slightly less horsepower than the unchanged ULEV II version while reducing emissions and improving fuel economy estimates.

Volvo engineers have modified the S80's ride and handling dynamics to deliver greater driving pleasure. The newly available Sport Chassis offers crisper response via shorter and firmer springs, modified shock damping, firmer anti-roll bars and stiffer subframe bushings.

Inside the sumptuously appointed cabin the emphasis is on rewarding the driver and passengers with advanced levels of comfort and luxury. The soft, leather-trimmed seats with matching stitching are accompanied by door panels echoing the same motif. Volvo's signature ultra-slim floating center stack is upgraded with a silk metal frame that enhances its exclusive appeal.

A new steering wheel gains décor trim with silk matte metal finish on its four spokes, matching the newly added trim on the gear selector and around the starter button.

A new Multimedia Package for the 3.2 and T6 offers the Dynaudio Premium Sound System with Dolby® Pro Logic® II Surround Sound and rear headphone jacks. Also included is the Volvo Navigation System with DVD map data and remote control. The Personal Car Communicator with Keyless Drive, two-way car communicator and heartbeat sensor is available as an option along with front and rear park assist and Volvo's Blind Spot Information System (BLIS).

The 3.2 and T6 models can now be fitted with an optional Executive Package adding many of the luxury elements found on the V8. The list includes classic wood inlays and steering wheel, full soft leather seating surfaces, leather front center armrest, aluminum console storage cover, analog clock and ventilated front seats with massage. A rear seat refrigerator with two crystal glasses is optional with the Executive Package and for the V8.

In nearly every area of occupant protection the S80 expands Volvo's leadership in both preventative and protective safety. Innovations include side airbags with dual chamber construction for enhanced hip and chest protection. Clever structural design employs four different grades of steel for predictable crash energy absorption. The S80 also features the next generation of WHIPS rear impact protection and new approaches to pedestrian safety.

A Technology Package is available on all models for 2010. It includes the latest preventative safety technologies focusing on preventing driver distractions that studies show cause up to 90 percent of all traffic accidents. Based on this statistic, Volvo developed efficient features to help drivers avoid or reduce the severity of accidents caused by distraction and driver fatigue. The package includes Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC), Collision Warning with Brake Support (CWAB), Distance Alert (DA), Driver Alert Control (DAC) and Lane Departure Warning (LDW).
