Volvo Saved My Life Club

(Irvine, CA - August 13, 2003) - Every letter is unique, but the same theme runs through them all. People from all walks of life have been writing to Volvo for years to share their stories of how Volvo saved their life in a car accident. The Volvo Saved My Life Club was established in 1990 in order to recognize these people, their faith in Volvo and its dedication to building cars worthy of the title "you saved my life."

Once it's determined that an accident was severe enough that the performance of a Volvo did, indeed help save the lives of the passengers, they become members of the Volvo Saved My Life Club. Volvo's commitment to saving lives is evident with more than 500 members in the club today.

"I am eternally grateful to the engineers at Volvo for making safety a prime concern," writes Charles Longmoor, MD, from Dallas, Texas. Dr Longmoor's highway collision left his vehicle totaled, with only the rear bumper not damaged. He was able to walk away unharmed and ads, "I will be a lifelong driver of Volvo automobiles."

Throughout its history Volvo's safety innovations have lead the automotive industry, from the invention of the three-point safety belt to today's gyroscopic-sensor Roll Stability Control system in the XC90 SUV, Volvo continues to prove safety is its primary concern.

If you believe that a Volvo has helped save your life in an accident, you can contact the Volvo Customer Care Center at customerservice@volvocars.com and tell them you'd like to join the Volvo Saved My Life Club.
