(MAHWAH, NJ) August 3, 2023 – Volvo Car USA reports sales of 10,785 cars in July, up 57 percent compared to the same month last year. This was the seventh consecutive month of growth year-over-year.
In the first seven months of 2023, the company sold 70,535 cars in the U.S., up 22.8 percent compared with the same period last year.
The sale of Recharge models – those with a plug-in hybrid or fully electric powertrain – accounted for 28.9 percent of overall sales in the market, up over 200 percent over the same month last year.
During the month of July in the U.S., the Volvo XC90 was the top-selling model with sales of 3,719 cars, followed by the XC60 at 3,161 cars, and the XC40 at 2,443 cars.
Canada sales reached 1,055 cars in July, up 20.6 percent over the same month last year, with Recharge models taking a 23.3 percent share. The U.S. and Canada commercial region sold 11,840 cars in July, up 52.9 percent compared with the same month last year.
