First rearward facing child safety seat prototype tested in a Volvo (PV 444)
Inspired by the astronauts way of travelling rearwards, Bertil Aldman, medical doctor and subsequently Professor in Traffic Safety at Chalmers University of Technology, developed the very first child seat prototype in 1964. Volvo was closely involved in the development and the testing was done in a PV444.
