Volvo Cars rapporteerde vandaag een verkoop van 49.904 auto's in juni, een daling van 26,9 procent ten opzichte van dezelfde maand vorig jaar. De vraag naar auto's van het merk blijft groot, vooral naar de Recharge-lijn van geëlektrificeerde auto's.
De verkoop in juni werd beïnvloed door de COVID-19 gerelateerde lockdown in China, die een tekort aan bepaalde onderdelen veroorzaakte. Dit had vooral gevolgen voor de productie van volledig elektrische en plug-in hybride modellen. Over het algemeen begint Volvo Cars een duidelijke verbetering te merken in zijn productiesituatie, waarbij het aantal geproduceerde auto's in juni het hoogste van het jaar was. Het bedrijf verwacht echter dat het aandeel van de leveringen van volledig elektrische en plug-in hybride auto's ook in het derde kwartaal een impact zal blijven ondervinden.
