    Not a single Volvo XC90 occupant has died in a car-to-car accident in the UK, according to official Government crash figures.
    Many critics assumed that the Volvo Car Corporation entered the SUV segment too late when the Volvo XC90 was introduced at the Detroit Auto Show in January 2002.Instead, the ingenious XC90 revitalized the whole segment by successfully addressing all the problems of earlier SUVs.

    With 1,378 registrations and a 2.01 per cent market share, Volvo Car UK has experienced a very successful February 2010 and the good news doesn't stop there. All models in the Volvo range have performed significantly above last year's February results particularly the Volvo XC90 seven-seat SUV, S80 executive saloon and award-winning XC60 crossover.
    According to figures released earlier today by the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders, Volvo Car UK is on course to become the first premium motor manufacturer to sell more cars in 2009 than it did in 2008. Volvo sales up to the end of November 2009 stand at 31,393 compared to 2008s year-to-date figure of 31,655 and the full year result of 33,358 units.
    The Volvo XC90 revolutionised the premium SUV market when it was launched in 2003. With its modern design, powerful engines, Roll-Over Protection System (ROPS) and seven-seat capability with up to 64 seating configurations, it rapidly became one of Volvo's best-selling models. It is produced at Volvo's Torslanda plant in Gothenburg, Sweden.
    Volvo's extensive range of highly specified and environmentally conscious cars, combined with an attractive offer, has created unprecedented interest in Volvo cars under the new Scrappage Scheme.
