VOLVO CAR UK STAFF AUCTIONED OFF TO HELP RAISE £3,000 FOR COMIC RELIEF

Volvo Car UK directors and volunteer members of staff bravely put a day of their time up for offer in an online Dealer Auction in aid of Comic Relief. Volvo dealers have been placing their bids over the last week and the highest were announced today and included a generous £1,001 for Peter Rask, managing director, and £600 for Nick Connor, sales director. The Auction, along with staff and customer donations, has helped raise an impressive £3,000 for Comic Relief.

The Volvo Car UK volunteers will now be at the mercy of their highest bidding dealer for a day and activities could vary from getting hands on in the workshops, liaising with customers or even cleaning cars and washing windows. Those dealers with a more wicked sense of humour could even have the managing director cleaning out their gutters.

Collection boxes and Red Noses have also been available in many Volvo dealerships where staff and customers have been digging deep in their pockets to donate to this worthwhile charity. This grand effort by Volvo Car UK staff and dealers along with the auction helped raise the total of £3,000.

Peter Rask, managing director for Volvo Car UK commented, "The values of Volvo and Comic Relief are quite closely aligned. Both organisations are very focused on the protection of people and our surroundings. It therefore made sense for us to support this very worthwhile charity. We wanted everyone at Volvo Car UK and dealers to pull together and get involved and the auction provided an extra bit of competitive spirit. Whatever the challenge the dealers give us, we'll know that it's all in aid of a very good cause. I would like to say a big thank you to everyone at Volvo Car UK and our dealers who contributed and helped us on our way to raising £3,000 for Comic Relief."
