Volvo Cars sharpens the company's diesel offer. Two entirely new five-cylinder, 2.4-litre turbo diesels give the customers the attractive possibility to combine more power with class-leading fuel consumption and CO2-emissions.
Clews, sails, waves and zigzag stitches are some of the marine details that inspired the Volvo Ocean Race Edition cars."I spent weeks looking at sails and at yachting materials after I received the assignment," says Maria Thunberg, Colour & Trim Designer at Volvo Cars Special Vehicles.
The interior environment in a Volvo should also be safe for hypersensitive people; an ambition whose result means that three Volvo models, the S80, V70 and XC70, are now recommended by the Swedish Asthma and Allergy Association. An increasing number of customers are also beginning to make demands on the quality of the air in the car's passenger compartment.
The Volvo XC70, the third generation of Volvo's successful XC70 concept, is more refined than ever. A comfortable and luxurious appearance has been combined with top-class flexibility and an expressive design, making the model just as elegant in an urban environment as in the wilderness.
Volvo Cars came out top in Britain's Power of Aluminium Awards for the company's new load-anchoring system installed in the new XC70 and V70. "The system with its embedded eyelets is unique. It means a lot to Volvo Cars that we have won this award," says Karin Lejonbäck, group manager at the Interior & Climate department.
Volvo Cars is starting the countdown to the Volvo Ocean Race by launching a series of specially designed cars. The new Volvo Ocean Race Edition encompasses three models: the Volvo V70, Volvo XC70 and Volvo XC90. New is that customers can choose between two exterior colours: Ocean Blue and Electric Silver.
