Overview

Volvo V90 Cross Country - model year 2022

The V90 Cross Country is Volvo’s 5-door, 5-seat large premium all-road estate. It is built on the Scalable Product Architecture (SPA), Volvo’s advanced modular product platform that underpins all Volvo cars in the 90 and 60 Series.

Since the introduction of the first Cross Country over 20 years ago, Volvo Cars has become synonymous with the rugged all-road, all-weather segment. The V90 Cross Country takes the elegance of the V90 and transforms it into an all-road estate that delivers safety, practicality, comfort and performance in a capable and adventurous package.

Like its 90 Series siblings, the V90 Cross Country carries the proud and confident face of Volvo’s design language, along with classic Volvo styling cues. Key features include the iconic “Thor’s Hammer” LED headlight design and the new grille.

Exterior design cues underline the car’s Cross Country nature, while an increased ride height of 60 mm and a chassis optimised for comfort and control in all weather and road conditions further add to the car’s special position within the Volvo portfolio.

In the cabin, Volvo has taken cues from the clean, Scandinavian interior design of its XC90 model and raised the bar with new details on the dashboard and instrument panel, including a 12,3” progressive driver display.

Connectivity and infotainment
The 2022 Volvo V90 Cross Country comes with Android-powered infotainment system with Google apps and services built in. The intuitive, next generation infotainment system offers customers unprecedented personalisation and an unparalleled connectivity, which is further enhanced through the introduction of a brand-new Digital Services package.

The centrepiece of the Digital Services package is access to Google apps and services*, which offer hands-free help with Google Assistant, best-in-class navigation through Google Maps and a broad offer of native in-car apps via Google Play.

Powertrain technology
The V90 Cross Country is powered by Volvo’s Drive-E powertrains, mated to an 8-speed automatic transmission. It is available with a range of 48 volt mild hybrid variants on both petrol and diesel powertrains, making it the first electrified Cross Country model. Power output varies from 190 to 320 hp. All-wheel drive is standard on all Cross Country models.

Volvo’s mild hybrid technology offers drivers up to 15 per cent fuel savings and emission reductions in real world driving.
More details around the powertrain offer can be found in the Technical Specifications.

Safety and driver assistance
Volvo’s leadership in the field of automotive safety is confirmed in the V90 Cross Country. The SPA platform has resulted in the strongest Volvo cars to date because of extensive use of boron steel, as well as numerous safety systems designed to protect people inside and outside the car.

The V90 now is equipped with Volvo Cars’ latest Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) sensor platform, a modern, scalable active safety system that consists of an array of radars, cameras and ultrasonic sensors.

This platform enables the development and deployment of active safety systems in the XC60, such as the detection of other road users, automatic braking and collision avoidance. It also allows for gentle driver support from standstill up to highway speeds, through the Pilot Assist function.
