Volvo Car Germany voted the most successful importer in Germany

Three first places and one second place: these are the outstanding results for importer Volvo Germany at the “Autoflotte Awards 2005”. The results not only made Volvo by far the best importer, they also underscored the company’s position as the top alternative to the German premium-brand manufacturers.

More than 5,000 fleet managers voted in this year's fleet awards. The awards were made in Leipzig as part of the tenth-anniversary celebrations for motoring journal “Autoflotte”.

As in the past two years, the Volvo V70 secured pole position in the upper medium import sector.
In a repeat performance from 2004, first place in the Off-Road and SUV sector went to the Volvo XC90.

The new midsize models, the Volvo S40 and Volvo V50, took their places on the winner’s podium for the first time; both were introduced to the German market last spring.

Second place for the Volvo Bi-Fuel models in the Alternative Drives import ranking was the icing on the cake for Volvo’s tremendous showing.

These results demonstrate the high acceptance and exceptional position enjoyed by the Swedish car maker’s products among German car owners and fleet operators.

Volvo Cars has often stood out as the most successful importer in this and other contexts in recent years.

At present, some 60% of all Volvo vehicles sold in Germany are used commercially, either as company cars or in large fleets.
