TORONTO, ON (October 1, 2010) Volvo Cars of Canada Corp. today announced sales were up 5.7 percent in September with a total of 537 vehicles sold.  Year-to-date sales are up 4.9 percent.

Models like the XC60 and XC90 in particular continue to resonate with buyers looking for a unique combination of utility, performance and dynamic handling capabilities with sales increasing 17.3% and 12.4% respectively over the last month.

"We are pleased with the sales numbers for September," says Jeff Pugliese, President & CEO, Volvo Cars of Canada Corp. "We are particularly excited about the strong sales of the all-new Volvo S60 which is already demonstrating a strong presence in its first full month on sale."

Volvo previewed the all-new S60 to rave reviews from the public at select Experiential Tour events this summer and continued this positive momentum with a press launch in Portland, where journalists were overwhelmed by the sleek design and dynamic handling capabilities. The all-new S60 arrives with a 300-horsepower turbocharged T6 engine, available Pedestrian Detection with Full Auto Brake, dynamic handling characteristics and stunning design with a base price of just $45,450.
