Sales of Volvo vehicles in November kept pace with last year’s brisk rate as Volvo Cars of Canada Ltd. delivered 820 units, on par with the 818 units sold in November, 2003, the company announced.
Sales for the 11 months of 2004 to date total 10,380 vehicles, an increase of 2.6 per cent over the same period of 2003. Last year was the fourth best sales year for the company in Canada.
The November sales performance was noteworthy because of the intense competitive activity in the market and is a credit to the company’s strong retail network, said Paul Cummings, Volvo Canada president and chief executive officer.
“The competitive pressures in our market are intense, and we’ve succeeded against some very aggressive competition,” said Cummings. “It’s a credit to our retailers that they’ve maintained their pace in a market that has tested every company.”
Cummings also credited the broad appeal of the Volvo product line for the sales momentum, with the S60 sports sedan, the S80 luxury sedan and the all-new S40 providing stable or improving sales across the country.”
