S60 & V60 Polestar Available For Sale Via Digital Commerce

Richmond Hill, ON. June 16th, 2015. Volvo Cars of Canada has made model-year 2016 S60 & V60 Polestar’s available for online reservation today at 9:00am Eastern. The order portal can be accessed here volvocars.com/polestar. This marks the second time Volvo Cars has made vehicle sales available via digital commerce; the first being in September 2014 with the digital sale of the First Edition XC90s. Globally, the XC90 First Editions sold out in 47 hours; Canada attributed the sixth-most orders across Volvo markets.

“We are delighted to become a part of the digital development of Volvo, enabling us together to reach an even wider group of performance-minded Volvo customer,” said Christian Dahl, CEO of Polestar.

Due to increasing customer demand, the S60 & V60 Polestar has expanded from 8 countries to 13 in 2015, and will renew its production of 750 cars globally. The Canadian market will again receive a limited availability of Polestar in 2015; the Polestar units will be available in Rebel Blue and Ice White. The digital commerce pilot project for the S60 & V60 Polestar has been made available in Australia, Canada, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.

“The digital commerce initiative has brought great success globally and generated a lot of interest in the Canadian market,” said Marc Engelen, President & CEO of Volvo Cars of Canada. “With the success of the XC90 First Editions, and the interest the Canadian market has in the Polestar product, we believe our second digital commerce will also see a great response from consumers.”

Polestar vehicles were deemed a success in Canada this past year and an illustration of such success was determined when the V60 Polestar won Best New Sports / Performance Car (over $50,000) at the 2014 AJAC Canadian Car of the Year awards. The V60 Polestar finished first in voting ahead of the Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.
