Sales of the Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar Expands to 13 countries

 

Richmond Hill, ON. February 24th, 2015.  After substantially exceeding customer demand expectations in 2014, the Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar get a renewed production of 750 cars in 2015 and expand to 13 countries around the world.

The Canadian market will again receive a limited availability of Polestar in 2015. Polestar vehicles were deemed a success in Canada this past year and an illustration of such success was determined when the V60 Polestar won Best New Sports / Performance Car (over $50,000) at the 2014 AJAC Canadian Car of the Year awards. The V60 Polestar finished first in voting ahead of the Ford Mustang and Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat.

 

After rolling out the cars to customers in eight countries last year, the S60 and V60 Polestar will be expanded to the Middle East for 2015, a region showing strong interest for Polestar. The new countries to get the MY16 Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar include Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates.

 

The following markets will have Polestars in-market for 2015: Australia, Bahrain, Canada, Japan, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Sweden, Switzerland, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, USA.

The Volvo S60 and V60 Polestar are designed to carry Polestar’s engineering philosophy to deliver an engaging, precise and confident driving experience in all weathers, on all roads and in all seasons.

 

The S60 & V60 Polestars are equipped with a 3.0L, Turbocharged, Inline-6 engine with a 6-speed Polestar calibrated transmission offering adaptive quick shift and paddle shift capabilities. Each vehicle features a Polestar Ohlins shock absorber system and Brembo braking system. Equipped with a launch control and Polestar calibrated stability control system, each Polestar Edition offers an output of 345 horsepower and 369 lb-ft of torque. The S60 Polestar records a 0-100km/h time of 4.9 seconds and the V60 Polestar recording a time of 5.0 seconds with both models sprinting to a top speed of 250km/h.

 

The S60 Polestar offers a combined fuel consumption of 10.2 l/100km, the V60 Polestar offers a combined fuel consumption of 10.3 l/100km. The Polestar Edition vehicles will only be available in Rebel Blue and Black Sapphire and are equipped with all-wheel-drive capabilities.
