2004 Volvo V70

The car: Versatile, stylish and safe, the V70 wagon is the quintessential Volvo. Each of the five versions of V70 has distinct personalities, yet shares the Volvo commitment to versatility, practicality and safety.

What's New?

  • The high performance V70 R wagon, with 300 h.p., electronically controlled all-wheel drive, Volvo's Four C active suspension, 6-speed gearbox and Brembo brakes, is the most powerful Volvo wagon ever made. New for 2004.
  • The popular and powerful 2.5T engine that debuted last year as the standard power for the all-wheel drive version of the wagon becomes the standard power in the front-wheel drive V70 2.5T, replacing the 2.4T.
  • Steering feel and precision are improved with new ratios and optional speed-sensitive steering
  • New remote door lock with integrated key, new instrument treatment, optional Bi-Xenon clear lens headlamps, new exterior colours and option packages
  • Special 'Titanium Edition' 2.5T with unique appearance and high-value option group

Key facts

  • The new V70 R brings to five the number of versions of the most popular Volvo wagon: V70 2.4, V70 2.5T, V70 AWD, V70 T5 and V70 R
  • The V70 AWD is available as a special order
  • Described as a marriage of 'safety + versatility', the V70 is built without compromise as a wagon.
  • V70 is designed around Volvo's large car platform but is not a derivative of an existing sedan. Despite its five-door configuration, the V70 has exceptional torsional rigidity that permits the MacPherson strut front and multi-link rear suspension to deliver remarkable and predictable handling, regardless of the load it carries.
  • The current generation V70 was introduced in 2000.

Price: $37,995 (V70 2.4), $42,995 (V70 2.5T), $45,495 (V70 AWD), $47,995 (V70 T5) and $59,995 (V70 R)
