Detroit Auto Show 2010

Volvo Cars' work on electrification technology includes a systematic approach to safety issues related to battery power. The basic perspective is that a battery-powered Volvo must be as safe as any other new Volvo car - when it comes to owning and driving and also in the event of an accident.
The bold attitude of the Volvo XC60 R-Design radiates true driving pleasure - and the sporty chassis and direct steering ensure that the drive matches the sporty appearance.
The new Volvo C70 has the same smart three-piece retractable hardtop, comfortable seating for four adults and world-leading convertible safety as before. But the updated design and elevated premium feel bring the sleek convertible up to a completely new level of relaxed, refined elegance.
The Volvo C30 R-Design is the nearest thing to a dedicated sports car in the present Volvo model range. The stiffer, more distinct properties of the new chassis add sharpness to the sporty drive - and the exclusive extra equipment gives the C30 R-Design just the right attitude.
The new Volvo C30 boosts its personality with a more confident front, a bold styling kit for those who want even more attitude - and a new razor-sharp sports chassis.
At the Detroit Motor Show, Volvo Cars is presenting a complete battery electric Volvo C30 with a range of 150 km. The next step forward is to build a test fleet of at least 50 electric Volvo C30s, which will be used in real-life traffic from 2011.
