The ranking was established by a jury of specialist motoring journalists, who awarded points to each vehicle according to price, average residual value, overall enjoyment (driving, comfort, on-board experience, technology, perceived quality) and the vehicle’s contribution to its competitive environment. The scoring process is simple for each jury member, with 7 points going to their first choice, 6 to their second choice, and so on.

We are delighted and proud of this distinction awarded by a jury of experts. The new Volvo EX30 has numerous strengths and is undoubtedly one of the most accomplished 100% electric models. With their vote, the jury members are rewarding this new model, of course, but also all the work done by the engineers and designers,” said Yves Pasquier-Desvignes.

The EX30 marks Volvo’s return to the compact car market, ten years after the discontinuation of the C30 hatchback. Available with a single electric drive train but in two power levels (272 bhp and 428 bhp), the Volvo SUV has a combined WLTP range of between 344 km and 450 km depending on the version. Featuring the brand’s unique styling cues, the EX30 is extremely competitively priced for its category (starting at €37,500) and will be produced in Europe from 2025.

Launched in France on 7 June 2023, the Volvo EX30 has already received 3,500 orders for the second half of 2023, even before its arrival in the distribution network.
