Testing aerodynamics - 8,2 meter diameter, 5 Megawatt fan capable of creating wind speeds of up to 250km/h in the Volvo Car Wind Tunnel.Volvo C30 1.6D DRIVe in Volvo Car Wind Tunnel. The wheels and tyres are supported by rotating flat steel belts. The airflow around and under the car is improved by the DRIVe's aerodynamic wheels and underbody, helping to reduce the aerodynamic drag by more than 10%.
