....garners five Gold Camera and four Silver Screen Awards at US International Film - & Video Festival
Irvine, CA (June 13, 2002) - Volvo Cars' product launch films are awarded yet again. This time the venue is the US International Film- & Video Festival.
The competition is one of the world's leading events devoted to the selection and recognition of outstanding business, television, documentary, industrial, information, and entertainment productions with 1,500 entries received from 33 countries.
"It's brilliant that Volvo is recognized internationally for producing good films as well, not only for our good cars," says Christer Johansson, manager for New Product Launches, Global Communication at Volvo Car Corporation.
Five Gold Camera accolades went to three films, two of which features the Volvo XC90, the company's first SUV scheduled for release this fall. "Her Own Way," a vehicle identity/spirit of adventure production won the Meeting Presentation and Corporate Image category, while "The Next Generation SUV" took top honors for Meeting Openers. "The Volvo Design Story" earned best in class in three categories.
Two films, about the Volvo Adventure Concept Car 2 (ACC2) and Volvo Design philosophy, received four Silver Screen awards.
All films were produced by Dockhouse Films, based in Gothenburg, Sweden. The company MFX provided animations and KB-film supplied crash test sequences.
The US International Film - & Video Festival awards were presented at a ceremony in Manhattan Beach, California, on June 7th.
The festival is one of two international competitions operated under the auspices of the United States Festival Association. The organization also conducts the annual Mobius Advertising Awards, founded in 1971, which recognizes outstanding television and radio commercials, print and direct mail advertising, and package design.
The organization operates from its Los Angeles area headquarters in Redondo Beach, California, USA.
