Volvo Announces Pricing of the 2012 C70 Inscription

ROCKLEIGH, N.J. (Dec. 15, 2011) - Volvo Cars of North America, LLC, (VCNA) today announced that its 2012 C70 Inscription package - on sale during the first quarter of next year - will retail for $3,900.  The C70 Inscription is a modified version of Volvo's C70 hardtop convertible featuring added horsepower and torque, and unique interior and exterior details.

Exclusive to the North American market, the C70 Inscription offers performance tuning to the Engine Control Module (ECM).  Provided by Polestar, a Swedish racing and performance products company partnered with Volvo Cars, the tuning optimizes engine output in a variety of ways.  More air and fuel are funneled into the combustion chambers and spark timing is advanced, creating notable performance gains.  The turbocharged inline 5-cylinder engine generates 250 horsepower at 5,500 rpm and 273 lb.-ft. of torque at 3,000 rpm.  Seamless power is routed to the front wheels through a 5-speed Geartronic automatic transmission.

The Inscription package introduces several new features on the C70, including 18-inch black Midir wheels with polished rims and spokes, a black grille surrounded by chrome, Sovereign Hide upholstery, a leather-covered dashboard, and Inscription floor mats, hand brake lever and front headrests.  It's available in just two colors: Ice White and Black Sapphire Metallic.
