TORONTO (March 1, 2006) – Volvo Cars of Canada Corp. today announced sales in February of 699 units, an increase of 2.3 per cent over the 683 units sold during the same month last year.
For the year to date, Volvo retailers have sold 1,297 units, an increase of 2.4 per cent over the 1,266 units sold during the first two months of 2005.
“What’s important to note is the strength of Volvo’s all-wheel drive products,” said Steve Blyth, President and CEO of Volvo Cars of Canada. “This year, more than three quarters of all Volvo vehicles sold have been equipped with all-wheel-drive. That’s indicative of the interest Canadians have in the technology during the winter months, when all-wheel drive proves most useful.”
Volvo Cars of Canada Corp. is part of the Volvo Car Corporation of Göteborg, Sweden.
