Volvo Cars North American Sales Report for January

 

IRVINE, Ca. (February 1, 2006) – Volvo Cars of North America, LLC reports sales in the United States of 8,881units for January. This compares to 10,160 for the same period last year, representing a 12 percent decrease.

 

For the month, the Volvo S60 sedan performed well with 2,067 units sold – a 7 percent increase. The XC90 SUV remained Volvo's sales leader registering 2,390 units.

 

Overall, Volvo sales for NAFTA (United States, including Puerto Rico, Canada and Mexico) were 9,685 units, which is 12 percent down compared to the beginning of 2005. Volvo Canada sales were up 2.6 percent, with 598 units sold, while Volvo sales in Mexico trailed last year by 28 percent, selling 206 units.
