The 1980s - The decade of power, speed, and safety. The first turbo-charged car was produced by Volvo Car Corporation. As sales continued to rise, the one-millionth Volvo left the assembly line from Gothenburg, bound for North America. Volvo kept with the times, staying current with style, quality and safety. A new production plant was put into service, keeping Volvo at an elite status among the eyes of the automotive world.
