1950s Overview


The 1950s - The decade Volvo made its entry onto the US market (the year, 1955). Volvo realized the importance of the US market - "the land of the motor car." Key safety features were introduced. The biggest of course, being the three-point safety belt, as a standard fitting. Volvo was the first car manufacturer in the world to equip its cars with this feature standard. Volvo stood out as a leader in safety protection.
