IIHS Acknowledges Volvo's Long Standing Tradition of Building Strong Roofs

Rockleigh, NJ, November 16, 2009 - In 1967 Volvo's 140 series was introduced. This series was loaded with new and innovative safety features, long before mandates by governments and safety organizations.  One such feature was the addition of three roof reinforcements in the sedan and four in wagons.

"We are proud of our safety tradition and proud of what our future holds to help protect those in and around our Volvo cars," states Doug Speck, CEO and President, Volvo Cars of North America.
