Volvo Car USA reports sales of 8,560 cars in February, up 38 percent compared to the same month last year and the fifth consecutive month of year-over-year growth led by continued demand for the company’s cars, especially the Recharge lineup of fully electric and plug-in hybrid models.
Sales of the company’s fully electric cars -- the XC40 Recharge and C40 Recharge compact luxury SUVs -- increased 75 percent compared with the same month last year and comprised 11 percent of sales.
Sales of the company’s Recharge models were up 45 percent and comprised 29 percent of all Volvo cars sold in the U.S. during the month.
In Canada, February sales increased 14 percent year-over-year with a 65 percent increase in Recharge model volume, which comprised 44 percent of retail deliveries.
