Volvo builds gravity car with safety and beauty in mind!

When looking at Volvo as a brand, people think safety. Volvo has become known as the innovator in safety technology. Whether it is a SUV, convertible, or even a Volvo gravity vehicle, safety is always a top priority.

This year's Volvo gravity car hits the track with some key safety features to protect the driver. Included under the canopy are a five-point harness, rollover cage, and a reactive braking system.

Designed as the ultimate gravity race car, Volvo's designer Blair Taylor has created a race-bred, purpose-built vehicle aimed at beating the 10 other entrants from the world's most prestigious automotive design centers.

The 2005 Volvo Gravity vehicle is based upon Volvo Monitoring and Concept Center's human centric, Scandinavian design approach where form and function are intergraded toward an elegant result.

At the end of the day, Volvo's involvement in this event is about more than winning, it is about the children. As Taylor says it, "I believe our car will maximize the most from Mother Nature; we're here to raise money for the foster kids world wide and win for Volvo."
