MAHWAH, NJ (February 2, 2021) Volvo Car USA reported 7,110 cars sold in January 2022 despite supply constraints, with the brand’s Recharge models closing out the month up 134 percent over the same period last year.
Sales of the company’s Recharge models – cars with a fully electric or plug-in hybrid (PHEV) powertrain – represented more than a quarter of total sales nationwide. In California, Recharge models accounted for a record 63.5 percent of total sales in the state.
Overall, the Volvo Car Americas region reported 8,808 cars sold for the month. Volvo Car Canada saw a year-over-year sales increase of 6.7 percent, while Latin America posted growth of 13.9 percent. A total of 2,769 Recharge models were sold in the Americas region and represented 31.4 percent of total volume.
