Volvo Car USA posts fifth consecutive month of growth

  • Volvo Car USA sales up 21.4 percent over October 2019 with 10,691 cars sold
  • Best October sales result since 2004
  • Year-to-date sales improve 2.6 percent, down now just 2.3 percent over 2019
  • Volvo Car Canada up 25.5 percent year-over-year, reporting 1,005 cars sold in October 2020
  • Latin America region achieves 1.2 percent growth year-over-year posting 1,653 cars sold

 

MAHWAH, NJ (November 3, 2020) Volvo Car USA posted its fifth consecutive month of year-over-year growth in October, achieving a 21.4 percent increase over October 2019. This result reflects 10,691 cars sold and marks the best October result for the brand since 2004.

 

The Swedish luxury car brand’s line-up of premium SUVs continued their strong performance, accounting for 87 percent of its sales in October. The XC40 and XC60 SUVs both achieved their best month ever with 2,504 and 3,571 cars sold, respectively.

 

This brings Volvo Car USA closer to its record-setting 2019 result, down now just 2.3 percent year-over-year with 84,295 cars sold year-to-date.

 

The Volvo Cars Americas region overall also achieved a strong result for the month of October, posting 18.7 percent growth year-over-year. Volvo Car Canada Ltd. reported sales of 1,005 cars for the month of October, a year-over-year increase of 25.5 percent. Year-to-date Volvo Cars has sold a total of 7,209 vehicles in Canada. Latin America also achieved growth posting a 1.2 percent increase in sales with 1,653 cars sold versus October 2019.
