Volvo Cars of North America

 

Anne E. Bélec is President and CEO of Volvo Cars of North America (VCNA), Volvo Car Corp.'s largest global market.  Headquartered in Irvine, Calif., Bélec provides executive leadership to VCNA's marketing, sales, parts, service, technology and training support for Volvo automobile retailers in the United States, and oversight of Volvo operations in Canada and Mexico.

 

Previously, she was Vice President of Sales Operations for Volvo Car Corp. in Sweden, responsible for global sales and related distribution operations as well as customer satisfaction processes.

 

Prior to joining Volvo, Bélec has held a broad range of positions and responsibilities within Ford Motor Co. since 1985 that include Director of North American Sales Planning & Distribution in which she worked on the re-engineering of distribution processes and systems; Network and Business Development Manager then General Marketing Manager (Lincoln Mercury Division); Portfolio Brand Strategy Manager, Worldwide Marketing Plans Manager, Global Rear Wheel Drive  Platforms (Product Development) and Marketing Plans Manager (Ford Division); as well as a number of field and staff positions at Ford of Canada.

 

Creativity, efficiency, effective delivery and building strong dealer relationships have been ubiquitous characteristics during her illustrious career.

 

Bélec earned a Bachelor of Commerce (Marketing) from the University of Ottawa (1983) before graduating from Duke University's Fuqua School of Business with an MBA (Global Business and Strategy) in 1998.

 

Bélec is a member of boards for Volvo Cars of North America, Volvo Cars of Canada and the Volvo Monitoring & Concept Center.  She also serves on the advisory board of the University of California Irvine Paul Merage School of Business; on the board of directors of CALSTART; and on the board of directors of Industrial Alliance Insurance and Financial Services, Inc., in Canada.  She has been a trustee of the Marketing Science Institute since 1999.

 

Bélec was named a Business Woman of the Year by the Orange County Business Journal in 2007.  In 2005, she was nominated as one of Automotive News's "100 Leading Women in the North American Automotive Industry."  She was also honored by the Orange County Business Journal as one of the Top 50 Influential People in Orange County in 2006 and 2007.

 

She hosts the Volvo for life Awards (http://www.volvoforlifeawards.com/), an annual program that recognizes and rewards everyday American heroes who do extraordinary things in their communities.  Additionally, she is Co-Chair of the Volvo External Diversity Council.

 

Bélec is fluent in French and holds dual citizenship of the United States and Canada.
