Volvo Cars Lends A Helping Hand To Hurricane Charley Victims

Irvine, CA (Sept. 2, 2004) --- Many lives have been changed because of Hurricane Charley. To help people rebuild, Volvo Cars of North America, LLC (VCNA), is offering special vehicle replacement assistance to people whose vehicles were damaged by the destructive hurricane.

"Our mission at Volvo Cars is to deliver beyond what is normally expected by a car company," says Vic Doolan, VCNA President and CEO. "With Care by Volvo at the heart of everything we do, we are pleased to provide vehicle replacement assistance for the victims of Hurricane Charley."

Through this special program, Volvo customers can receive an assistance of $1,000 towards the replacement of a vehicle that was damaged by the hurricane. The assistance is available to eligible customers who purchase or lease a new model year 2004 or 2005 Volvo from now until September 30, 2004. This offer may be combined with current published programs.

"It is our sincere hope that this assistance will help our customers through this very difficult time," adds Doolan.

Only customers with a State of Florida address will be deemed eligible for the program. Customers must show documentation to confirm a damaged vehicle.

VCNA is not the only part of the Volvo family to extend a helping hand. Volvo Car Finance North America is taking a part in Ford Credit's Disaster Relief Program. Volvo Car Finance is offering customers in Central Florida the opportunity to defer up to two monthly payments without paying extension fees. Eligible customers will receive a letter within the next few weeks with instructions on how to apply. Customers who have not received a letter, but believe they qualify, may inquire about the program by calling Volvo Car Finance toll-free at 1-800-770-8234. Customers must apply for the program by October 23, 2004.

VCNA, part of the Volvo Car Corporation of Gothenburg, Sweden, provides marketing, sales, parts, service, technology and training support to Volvo automobile retailers in the United States, Canada, Mexico and Puerto Rico.

The Volvo automobile model line includes the newly introduced all-new V50 wagon and its sedan counterpart, the award-winning 2004.5 all-new S40, the award-winning XC90, the sporty S60 sedan – including the award-winning performance sedan – S60 R and the performance wagon version – V70 R, the flagship S80 luxury sedan, versatile V70 wagon and rugged XC70 (Cross Country), the C70 convertible, and the compact S40 and V40 models.
