Volvo Overseas Delivery Program Keeps the Heat On With July Sales Up Over 45 Percent and the New S60 R Formula 1 Experience to Spa-Francorchamps

Irvine, CA (August 13, 2004) – With a whopping 342 sales in July, up 45.5 percent from July 2003, Volvo's Overseas Delivery Program continues to offer value and excitement to buyers of new Volvos who wish to take delivery of their cars in Europe. Boasting sales of 1444 for the year so far, Volvo's Overseas Delivery Program is up 29 percent over last year.

"At this point it's hard not to smile from ear-to-ear," commented Lasse Magnusson, Overseas Delivery Manager. "This summer has seen the Volvo program. In June we were up over 80 percent, in July 45.5 percent!" The key to the Overseas Delivery Program's success is, according to Magnusson, that it offers a program that is superior to the competition. Volvo's Overseas Delivery Program takes care of the customers from the beginning to the end, in line with the Care by Volvo philosophy.

Taking the "Care by Volvo" philosophy to the next level is the upcoming 2005 S60 R delivery program. "This is truly a trip of a lifetime," said Magnusson. The trip, designed around the hear-stopping thrill of Formula 1 racing, has been specifically designed for owners of the hot-blooded S60 R. Fifteen lucky guests have already signed up for the five day excursion, and they will be the first in the U.S. to take delivery of the 2005 model-year R cars.

Departing August 23rd, the package includes two Business Class airfare tickets aboard SAS airlines to Gothenburg, Sweden. Upon arrival, guests are given a VIP delivery of their S60R including a "racing theme delivery center," a product presentation of the R's project Manager, Hans Nilsson, a VIP tour of Volvo's production facility before boarding the ferry to Kiel in Germany. The overnight ride includes a double occupancy cabin and fine cuisine. The next morning their cars are off-loaded and guests get to drive their new S60 Rs on Germany's famed Autobahn to Brussels, Belgium, where they will be staying in a five star hotel near the famous Grand Place. The highlight of the experience is three glorious days at Spa-Francorchamps to see the world's greatest Formula 1 drivers battle for the checkered flag.

"The S60 R Experience is just one reason why Volvo's Overseas Delivery Program is considered the best among the European luxury brands," commented Magnusson. "When you consider that the entire trip only costs $2,495 for two people, it's one of the greatest values we've ever offered. Of course, we are already planning the trip for next year and as this year's trip sold out very quick, we have already customers asking what it will be in 2005!"

Aside from the exciting S60 R, the 2004-2005 Volvo automobile line includes the all-new S40 sports sedan, V50 sports activity wagon, award-winning XC90, sporty S60 sedan, the S80 luxury sedan, versatile V70 wagon and rugged Cross Country, and the beautiful C70 convertible.
