Volvo Cars of North America Sales Report for June

ROCKLEIGH, N.J. (July 1, 2009) - Volvo Cars of North America, LLC, today announced U.S. sales of 7,042 units in June, marking the third consecutive monthly sales increase.  Additionally, June sales were .6 percent higher than June 2008 sales, marking the first year-over-year monthly sales increase since January 2008.

For the month of June, Volvo sales in Canada were up 3.2 percent, with 901 units sold.  Overall in North America (United States and Canada), Volvo has sold 33,172 units year-to-date, which represents a 33.8 percent decrease for the same period of 2008*.

"Our numbers are very encouraging," said Doug Speck, VCNA president and CEO.  "The new XC60 is getting more traction and the Safe + Sound Coverage Plan we offered in June drew a lot of people into our stores.  We've decided to extend the Safe + Sound Coverage Plan through the end of July."

The Safe + Sound Coverage Plan, available on all 2009 models, wraps a comprehensive list of benefits into one package. Volvo has combined extended time and mileage limits on warranty repairs and roadside assistance, along with enhancing wear-item coverage and extending factory scheduled maintenance coverage.  Details of the Safe + Sound Coverage Plan are available at http://www.volvocars-pr.com/.
