Volvo Cars Reports Second Best April on Record U.S. Sales Remain Strong

 

Irvine, CA (May 3, 2004) – Volvo Cars of North America, LLC (VCNA) reported sales of 10,808 units, representing the second best April in the United States following the record month last year. Compared to last year, April 2004 fell short by 1.1 percent. Year-to-date, sales remain 7.6 percent ahead of last year.

 

"Volvo performs consistently well in an extremely difficult market, based on the strength of its products and the uniqueness of the brand" said Vic Doolan, VCNA President and CEO.

 

Volvo car sales throughout North America were 7.1 percent ahead of last year's record pace. For the month, sales of 12,100 units were slightly off (1.7 percent) when matched to last April. Sales in Canada decreased 7.6 percent for the same period, while Mexico recorded a 0.4 percent increase.
