New York Auto Show - The Latest from Volvo

Other New York Show announcements include:

  • Your Concept Car (YCC), first ever concept developed, designed, managed, and produced primarily by women, and made for everybody
  • All-New Volvo V50 drives through pop artists' Romero Britto paint shop, resulting in a unique, pop art, special edition Volvo vehicle
  • Volvo's award-winning SUV, the XC90, constructed of LEGO bricks, kicks off the sponsorship making Volvo the "Official Car" of the California theme park, LEGOLAND®

YCC:

Volvo Cars is unveiling a concept that's never been attempted in the more than 100 years of auto manufacturing: the first car designed and developed almost exclusively by women. Though created from a woman's perspective, the car includes features appealing to both sexes -- including easier maintenance and maneuvering, better storage solutions and a bold, yet elegant, exterior.

Britto:

Volvo Cars is continuing its walk on the wild side. This time, it's pop art in the driver's seat as the all-new Volvo V50 receives a makeover from world-renowned artist Romero Britto. The result is a very different special edition vehicle.

XC90 Lego:

Volvo Cars in North America teams with LEGOLAND® California to promote driving safety and family values. As part of the recently announced sponsorship agreement between the subsidiaries of the two Scandinavian icons, a replica of Volvo's award-winning SUV, the XC90, was constructed of LEGO's famous modeling bricks. Volvo is the "Official Car" of LEGOLAND®, and the Lego XC90 will take up residence in the Carlsbad, California theme park.
