Volvo Cars of North America Sales Report for December

 

IRVINE, Calif. (Jan. 5, 2009) - Volvo Cars of North America, LLC, reports sales of 4,953 units in the United States for December, representing a 47.1 percent decrease compared to the same period last year.*  For the year, U.S. sales were down 31.3 percent, with a total of 73,102 units sold.

 

Overall in North America (United States, Canada and Mexico), Volvo has sold 81,446 units year-to-date, which is 30.9 percent off compared to the same period for 2007*.  For the month in Canada, Volvo sales were down 32.7 percent, with 268 units sold, while Volvo sales in Mexico were off 36 percent, selling 112 units.

 

The Volvo C70 and C30 models both finished the year with sales gains, the C70 posting a 22.7 percent increase while the popular C30 saw a 104 percent increase.
