ALL-NEW VOLVO XC90 SWEEPS TEXAS AUTO WRITERS ASSOCIATION AWARDS
Single most awarded model at 2015 Texas Truck Rodeo, Including Crossover Utility of Texas
SAN ANTONIO, TX (Oct 13, 2015) – The All New Volvo XC90 has won three awards from the Texas Auto Writers Association at the 2015 Texas Truck Rodeo.
In a two-day on- and off-road competition of more than 80 crossovers, SUVs, pickup trucks, and commercial trucks, the all-new Volvo XC90 took top category honors by being named the Crossover Utility Vehicle (CUV) of Texas, as voted by the Texas Auto Writers Association (TAWA), over entries from Lexus, Infiniti, Lincoln, and others.
The TAWA also voted the seven passenger, all-wheel-drive XC90 the Best Luxury Crossover Utility, citing its elegant Scandinavian design, Intellisafe suite of safety and semi-autonomous drive features, comfortable third row seating, 316-horsepower supercharged and turbocharged engine, 5,000 pound tow rating, and EPA highway fuel economy rating of 25 mpg.
In addition, the all-new Volvo XC90 won the TAWA’s Best Connectivity award for its intuitive Sensus control system that features a nine-inch, tablet-like touchscreen similar to an Apple iPad.

In 2002 the first game-changing XC90 won the TAWA’s most prestigious award, the Truck of Texas, redefining the award program forever.
The TAWA is comprised of nearly 100 Texas area auto critics and reporters from respected outlets such as the Epoch Times, Houston Chronicle, El Heraldo News, Yahoo! Autos and more. The TAWA Texas Truck Rodeo was held October 7-9 at the Knibbe Ranch near San Antonio.
