Sales for June Up 22.1 Percent
Irvine, CA (July 1, 2003) - Volvo Cars of North America, LLC. (VCNA) records its best six months on record in the United States. Driven by strong performances by the XC90, V70, S/V 40 and C70, year-to-date sales in the U.S. are up 25.5 percent for 2003.
Volvo capped the second quarter with sales of 13,386 units during June. Sales were up 22.1 percent compared to the same period last year, the eighth consecutive monthly increase.

Sales of the V70, Volvo's versatile wagon, were noteworthy as the company prepares this month to celebrate its 50th year of producing wagons. V70 sales are up 26.1 percent year-to-date, reinforcing Volvo's leadership in the segment.
Overall, sales for NAFTA (United States - including Puerto Rico,* Canada, and Mexico) reached 14,682 units, representing an increase of 20.3 percent over the same period last year. Volvo sales for the year are 23.8 percent ahead of 2002.
Volvo sales in Canada remained steady for the month and are up 12.5 percent for the year.
