WESTMINSTER, CA. - (October 14, 2002) Volvo Cars will be title sponsors of the Little Saigon Expo 2002, to be held November 14 in Westminster California. Orange County is home to the largest population of people with Vietnamese ancestry outside of Vietnam. The Little Saigon Expo is the most significant effort by Volvo, reaching out to the Vietnamese American market. "This is a fairly new venture for us," said Greg Dixon, Volvo's Manager for Diversity Marketing , "However, we have substantially increased our focus on ethnic markets. Because of the purchasing power, and customer loyalty, these markets are essential to our business." "If we're going to grow as a company, we need to increase our visibility in this market; we need to listen and communicate appropriately, and the Little Saigon Expo will allow us to reach out to this community at a local and grassroots level," said Dixon. In addition to showcasing their vehicles at the expo, Volvo will also be recruiting for bilingual candidates for their dealerships.
The Little Saigon Expo 2002 will include Cultural, Technical, Career, and Social activities, as well as an Auto Show. Admission is free.
