Volvo Cars reported record first half year sales in 2019 of 340,826 cars, up 7.3 per cent compared with the same period last year. The company sold 317,639 cars in the first six months of 2018.
Volvo Car USA, LLC, (VCUSA) reported U.S. sales of 7,327 vehicles for the month of October, a 4.6 percent increase versus October 2017. Year-to-date VCUSA has sold 81,256 vehicles, an increase of 27 percent versus the previous year.
Volvo Cars reported a new record in global annual sales as 2018 volumes rose by 13.5 per cent to 582,096 cars for the January to November period, compared with 513,055 cars in the same period last year.
VCUSA reported U.S. sales of 8,970 vehicles for the month of August, an increase of 12.2 percent from the same period last year. Year-to-date VCUSA has sold 65,214 vehicles, an increase of 32.9 percent from the previous year.
VCUSA reported U.S. sales of 9,868 vehicles for the month of June, an increase of 35.1 percent from the same period last year. Year-to-date VCUSA has sold 47,622 vehicles, an increase of 39.6 percent from the previous year.
Volvo Cars’ positive momentum continued in April as the premium car maker reported a global year-on-year sales increase of 12.2 for the month, growing in all its main markets. Total sales for the month reached 52,635 cars compared to 46,895 a year earlier.
Volvo Cars President and CEO Håkan Samuelsson has been named the 2018 World Car Person of the Year by the World Car of the Year jury. The award was presented today at the Geneva Motor Show in Switzerland.
