Volvo Cars, the premium car maker, continued on its path towards another record full year in May, reporting double-digit global retail sales growth of 12.2 per cent compared to the same month last year, on the back of solid performance in all its three main sales regions.
Volvo Cars, the premium carmaker, saw a good start to the second quarter in April, reporting global retail sales growth of 10.5 per cent for the month. Volvo Cars’ three main sales regions all contributed to the double-digit growth.
Volvo Cars, the premium car maker, reported an operating profit of SEK3.5 billion for the first three months of the year, up 11 per cent from SEK3.1 billion during the same period last year. The increase was mainly driven by strong demand for the company’s XC60 and 90 series cars.

The V90 will make its North American debut at the North American International Auto Show in Detroit and will be available as a model year 2018 later this year.
Volvo Car Group, the premium car maker, has reported third quarter operating profit of SEK2,067m compared to SEK1,276m in the same period last year and a year-on-year increase in revenue to SEK41,1bn from SEK36.1bn previously. The operating margin rose from 3.5 per cent in the third quarter of 2015 to 5 per cent in 2016.
The international Car Design Award jury has recognised Volvo Cars’ contributions to automotive design with the Swedish carmaker winning the coveted Brand Design Language Award 2016.
