Volvo Car UK appoints Nikki Rooke as Head of Public Affairs, Events and Sponsorship


Volvo Car UK has appointed Nikki Rooke as its new Head of Public Affairs, Events and Sponsorship following Duncan Forrester's promotion to Director of Global Social Media at its parent company in Gothenburg, Sweden. She starts on 1 September 2012 and will be reporting to Managing Director, Nick Connor.


Nikki leaves her role as Head of Communications at The Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders where she's been for four years having previously held positions as Senior Communications Manager for A1GP and Communications Planning Manager at the now-disbanded Premier Automotive Group.


Confirming the appointment, Nick Connor said "I'm delighted that Nikki will be joining the Management Team of Volvo in the UK. She brings with her a wealth of knowledge and experience that will be invaluable to us. Volvo is on a journey as a stand-alone company with completely new brand, product and corporate strategies as well as a host of exciting and innovative new cars, starting with the new Volvo V40. In 2011, Volvo was the fastest growing premium volume brand in the world so I'm confident that we'll have plenty to keep her busy!"
