THE CHALLENGE

MARLOW TO MAYRHOFEN ON ONE TANK OF FUEL

ARE YOU UP FOR IT ?

Marlow in Buckinghamshire is the start/finish point for this unusual and unique challenge.  Why Marlow ? This small town has been home to the Volvo Car UK Head Office for many years and is well situated with direct links to main motorways across the country......and it just so happens that it starts with the same letter as our destination/starting location !

Mayrhofen in Austria is hosting The Best Show on Snow, Volvo Snowbombing.  This week long event houses a mixture of top bands, world-class DJs, snow-sports, comedy and various fun-filled activities.  For the second year in a row, Volvo is the main sponsor of this award winning music festival with the UK accounting for the third largest number of visitors to the event.

Nearly 200,000 skiers drive from the UK to all of the slopes of Austria and Switzerland every year, and with the cost of petrol and diesel continuing to rise, many holiday makers are spending more and more of their holiday budgets on travel costs instead of at their destination.

These two locations are separated by 830 road miles, but with a theoretical range of 847 miles, the V50 DRIVe is an ideal car for those wanting a versatile, comfortable and economical drive to their destination.  The V50 has joined the C30 and S40, producing just 99g/km of CO2 and these three cars join the rest of the current Volvo DRIVe range and are amongst five models now producing under 120g/km of CO2.

So, you join us in Marlow/Mayrhofen, with full fuel tanks, with a trip of over 800 miles to complete over two days, without a fuel stop.  The car can do it....can you ?
