The greatest snowboard and music festival in the world is nearly upon us - and instead of travelling care-of an over-crowded flight, a lucky few are taking part in the Volvo Road Trip. This year, 100s of cars from all over Europe will be taking to the road in style and comfort with a host of celebrities and fellow Snowbombers all the way to the Austrian mountains. After all, the journey is just as important as the destination.
Having already announced their pan European headline sponsorship deal with the official Best European Festival (Festival Awards 2010), Volvo are now rev'ing up for their perfectly placed involvement in the Volvo Road Trip.
Volvo's entire model range will be used to help transport the Snowbombers taking part in the Road Trip. From the uniquely styled C30, the award winning crossover XC60 to Volvo's most dynamic cars to date, the all-new S60 saloon and V60 sportswagon.
Leaving the start line from Lipscomb Volvo, Maidstone in the UK on Saturday 2nd April, the Volvo Road Trip is a unique driving experience. A non-competitive, musically-motivated roadtrip to the Volvo Snowbombing Festival in Mayrhofen, Austria, with plenty of fun and frolics to be had along the way. Putting a unique twist on festival travel, expect fancy-dress inspired cars, customised vehicles and Volvo's own 21st Century Luxury VIP car fleet including the all new Volvo S60 and V60 R-Design, which will add sportiness, drive and dynamics to the musical journey.
Volvo Snowbombing are proud to announce that award winning UK rap sensations Example and Professor Green have signed up to take part in the Volvo Road Trip.
Joining Example and Professor Green will be Radio 1 Extra DJ MistaJam, hotly tipped singer songwriter Ed Sheeran, fitness legend Mr Motivator, Brit actor Alfie Allen, musical tricksters The Cuban Brothers and The Enemy's Tom Clarke. Taking to the road in two of Sweden's top models, this motley crew will be enjoying the new luxury of the all-new Volvo S60, designed with a true sports car feel, and the most dynamically versatile Volvo model ever, the Volvo V60.
The Volvo Road Trip starts with a leisurely drive from the UK, Holland and Germany. Drivers and their crews will make an overnight pit stop in Frankfurt where they will be treated to an exclusive performance from fellow Road-Tripper Example. The next day sees the cross country fleet rendezvous just outside of Volvo Snowbombing HQ before finishing the trip with a triumphant parade through the centre of Mayrhofen.
