Volvo Car Corporation offers world first in communications from Geneva Motor Show

Volvo Car Corporation is offering a world first at this year's Geneva Motor Show by bringing the action and excitement live to its global Facebook fans.

Three fully produced shows will be streamed surrounding the world premiere of the Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid at the Geneva Motor Show.

Hosted by former BBC journalist James Blatch, the programmes will be beamed worldwide directly from the Volvo stand and feature panel discussions and interaction from the Facebook community. It is the first time this type of programme has been produced from an Auto Show.

Contributors to the panel discussions will include actor, TV presenter and electric vehicle enthusiast Robert Llewellyn and also Volvo Cars' Paul Gustavsson and Karl-Johan Ekman. They will discuss the future of motoring and they will offer the first look inside the world's first plug in diesel hybrid car - the Volvo V60 Plug-in Hybrid.

The production is the latest in a long line of groundbreaking initiatives by Volvo to bring the flavour of the action at the world's major motor shows to its Facebook fans.

"This initiative shows our commitment to the 170,000 plus Volvo Facebook fans who, through these webcasts, can enjoy an exclusive event in the comfort of their own environment, says Peter Ganjbar, head of Volvo Cars Global Broadcast & Digital Media Relations."
