VOLVO IMPROVES COST OF OWNERSHIP AND INTRODUCES NEW FLEET OFFERS

Volvo Car UK has significantly improved ownership costs by lowering a basket of part prices, and reducing service times across the Volvo 2008 model year range.

Key fleet models such as the Volvo S40 and V50 benefit from average labour savings of up to 35% on a typical three year 60,000 mile contract thanks to reducing the time it takes to replace everyday Volvo standard service items such as the pollen filter1.

John Wallace, Volvo Car UK's corporate sales and leasing manager comments: "Lowering our servicing and repair costs will have an extremely positive impact in the fleet sector, especially with contract hire companies. This action, combined with the improved residual values on our current range will reduce average contract hire and Personal Contract Purchase (PCP) rentals and improve Volvo's competitive edge in the fleet sector."

To coincide with the 2008 model year, Volvo has also introduced a range of no cost specification upgrades for company motorists on the S40, S60, V50, C30, C70 and XC90.

The new offers go live on the 16 July and can be specified on a variety of trim levels, engines or transmissions2. Here is a summary of the no cost specification enhancements:

  • The S40, V50 and S60 receive a trim level upgrade from S to SE
  • The C30 receives the Bi-Xenon headlights pack
  • The C70 receives a leather upholstery upgrade
  • The XC90 receives a Geartronic transmission upgrade

This specification offer replaces the Fleet Service Plan which Volvo has been running for the past three years3.

"The Fleet Service Plan has been a great success in maintaining strong residual values, but it was time to refresh our standard offer. We consulted all areas of fleet and responded to the feedback that they prefer more transparent offers and we are confident that this new specification initiative will appeal to company car buyers," explained John.
