DESIGN YOUR PERFECT DAY OUT WITH NEW EXCURSIONS APP FROM VOLVO CAR UK
Volvo Car UK has designed a new app to enable thrill-seekers across the country to design their perfect day out and experience new adventures.
The app, called excursions, will launch on Volvo’s Facebook page (www.facebook.com/volvocaruk ) today, and will create a hub for people to swap ideas about great days out and favourite places so that others can experience them too.
The app takes the form of an interactive map that guides Volvo fans to the best adventures up and down the UK, most of which are accessible by car. They can filter activity types to find those that appeal most; ‘Like’ and share favourites; and even submit their own suggestions.
Kylee Rush, Brand & Launch Manager at Volvo Car UK, said: “We want as many people as possible to get involved by sharing their favourite days out – it could be anything you like, from an amazing view, beautiful road routes, a thrilling adventure, a favourite walk or just an experience you really want others to enjoy. The more people that get involved, the more we can make this a really useful tool for everyone to get a little extra sunshine this summer.”
The app, developed in partnership with Volvo’s social media agency Mindshare, will also host a range of videos filmed with Volvo’s sports and sailing ambassadors. The ‘First Up, First Down’ series is designed to show how the Volvo XC60 transported them and their gear so they could be first to complete an extreme challenge of their own at locations across the UK. Videos including extreme wind-surfing, mountain biking and kite-surfing.
“excursions is a great way for everyone to investigate all the potential opportunities we have for adventure in this country. And what could be better than a recommendation from like-minded people?” added Kylee.
The app is also a chance to win prizes too – with participants entered into competitions to win cherished experiences of their own.
